When I was part of his 2018 compliation Middle of Nowhere, I started to pay more attention to the 23 year old Kansas City creator who I only knew as MARX. Not only did he select one of my favorite beats to be on his 10 track project, but he crushed it with an impeccable flow and structure. The other 9 tracks on the album proved to be just as impressive, and I was certain MARX would continue to flourish - as he is doing right now with two new records just in time for the summer heat.
Currently working on his debut album ‘a LIL cut’ due out later this year, MARX kicks off the campaign with two back to back singles, ‘Pull Up’ and ‘3sixty’, recorded and mixed at the studio of Jordan Criddle. Having been over a year since releasing any music, MARX says he’s stepping back up to the podium and telling you what’s going to change - reasserting himself in the ever growing Kansas City hip-hop scene.
While his two singles spinning on all platforms may be enough to get us through the summer, we’re expecting to hear much more noise from an artist who seems eager to express himself through a love of hip-hop.
