I first met Jipetto at an Intelligent Sound showcase in Lawrence. It was my first time doing an IS show and I had messaged a friend to come out - she said her friend Max was performing too but I didn't know who he was at the time. His set was right before mine, and I watched as he brought up a barrage of equipment and performed as a one man band in front of a small crowd who paid close attention to his every detail. When we traded places on stage I told him his set was incredible, to which it was, and much like that one man band set I saw, his new album below embodies the same style.
Jipetto's debut project "Waterbed" mashes up different elements into a perfect blend of sound. While primarily electronic, Waterbed combines other genres like downtempo, ambient, and folk into something more progressive than your ordinary tunes.
Waterbed is out now and backed by the good people of Intelligent Sound. Take a listen and let us know what you think in the comments.
